For 1,I fell it shoud be a FIRST LINE DRUG in the first place.In this case,option (a)since she's an asthmatic-precluding the use of b-blockers.First line antihypertensives are B-BLOCKERS and DIURETICS.
No.2-Failure of control of BP on 1ST LINE DRUGS alone calls for the addition of a drug from the NEXT LEVEL(2ND LINE-CA CHANNEL BLOCKERS AND ACE INHIBITORS).But cos he's claudication,ther's a high chance that an ACE INHIBITOR might lead to RA STENOSIS(for the simple fact artherosclerosis is a GENERALISED DISORDER).So,most appropriate option is (c).
Any different opinion?
